A believer in God and holding the belief of unity of people, he has been in the forefront of building communities in his own way.
.As a person who has opposed casteism, racism, sexism, politics, backstabbing, dating leading to illicit sex, illicit sex, prostitution, corruption, black economy, non-vegetarianism, alcoholism, tobacco, promoted to Britain and other past imperial powers returning the imperial loot back to India and other nations and removing other social ills, he is an awardee of iCONGO, the International Confederation of NGOs, India's prestigious "Karmaveer Chakra," for 2010-2011 awarded for "Social Justice and Citizen Action," volunteer social work. He is a pass-out of IIT Delhi, India, click,
where he earned a B. Tech. (Chemical) in 1995 and later earned an MBA (Marketing and Finance) from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune, India in 1998. He has previously worked for companies like HCL Infosystems Ltd., Safescrypt Ltd., Canada Revenue Agency, IKON Office Solutions, IBM Canada Ltd, NCO Group and
Standard Chartered Bank.
.His success has not been an easy thing and he describes himself as “Self Made,” marking to say that he has made it in his life because of his hard work and attitude and not connections and places most importance on his skills, knowledge and intellectual abilities to have helped him achieve whatever he could, having seen an immense struggle. A real-life hero to many, who could not be demotivated by the humiliations and ridicules of his detractors as also the obstacles created by several people, he is currently the CEO of Namaste Vegetarian Food. Rituj believes the toughness of life has helped him become a better person and made him understand life in the true sense, something that will grow him and all those who come in contact with him. Rituj has therefore decided to dedicate his life for the purpose of using his knowledge and skills for the betterment of societies globally.
.Rituj was born in 1971 in Delhi to a conservative and devout Hindu Arya Samaj family of Punjabi Arora background, an Indo-Aryan community that traces its ancestry to the Ikshvaku Sun dynasty that can also boast of having Lord Ram in its fold. His father was an Army doctor, a Karmayogi in his own right and an honest individual, who participated in the 1962, 1965 and 1971 wars with China and Pakistan. He was Dr (Lt Col) Om Prakash Kalra (Retd.) and he like his wife and mother of Rituj, Vidya Kalra came from Dera Ismail Khan, NWFP, Pakistan having seen the atrocities and barbarism of Muslims and the arrogance of the British while having also seen their fathers and other ancestors participate in the Indian freedom struggle of 1947.
.Nicknamed, "Bank," by family and friends he has been Rituj's role model. Maternal ancestors of Rituj took part in the 1857 Indian mutiny in Multan, Pakistan. Hence loyalty and patriotism were inherited by him from his parents that he so proudly wears without any expectations. Both his parents have set examples of being positive, honest and helpful even in the face of adversities while being modern in outlook and retaining the cultural values and ethos of Hinduism. It is a matter of pride for Rituj that his paternal grandfather, Dr Hari Ram Kalra, who moved to Samastipur, Bihar, India after partition carried out social service right upto the very end of his career by giving free medical treatment to the local people who could not afford his services, while himself leading a humble life, having been uprooted from Pakistan.
.Also, there is a need to briefly mention that his maternal grandfather Lala Moolchand Madan, who came from a land and business-owning family, made significant contributions to the Arya Samaj in Delhi after moving there following partition. Rituj at a very early age showed signs of having acquired the traits of both his grandfathers and has since been doing social service and religious service since kidhood days, time permitting. It is a fact of merit that Rituj’s maternal grandmother, Krishna Madan and paternal grandmother, Ishwar Devi Kalra were prominent promoters of Arya Samaj in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan and other parts of NWFP, Pakistan till 1947.
.Rituj is a person who was instilled discipline, honesty, respect and attitude by his parents and the schools and colleges he attended right from the beginning. He is deeply religious and respects the cultural diversity of Hindus. He is an honest individual and he or his family can proudly boast that they are a corruption-free family having never taken or given bribes, etc. Rituj believed in the fairness of conduct and has helped many students and friends with free literacy classes at IIT Delhi, Symbiosis Pune and earlier at Dehradun where his family resided in the period 1982-1985.
.Rituj has been an outstanding student and citizen till date and is very friendly, holding respect for all cultures and places. He believes in the Sanskrit proverb, “Vasudhev Kutumbkam,” meaning “The world is a family.” He is of the opinion that it is not the religions that advocate wars but the powers to be who use it as a tool to make people fight people and hence the need to check this tendency, globally. Rituj’s initial education at St Mary’s Academy in Meerut Cantt, India during 1975-1981 and later at Bishop Westcott Boys’ School, Ranchi, India in 1981-1982 set a good moral character in him helping him also imbibe the Anglo-Vedic values being a combination of what he was offered at school and what was his heritage respectively, thereby helping him establish a unique personality.
.He saw poverty at Ranchi and was moved to help the needy in his free time after attending a lecture of Mother Teresa in 1981 in Ramgarh, Jharkhand. He started taking part in helping the patients at his father’s workplace, Army Hospital, Namkum, Ranchi, India and in doing religious service at the local Hindu temple and Sikh gurudwara earning the goodwill of people. Rituj developed here, an interest, in Indian regional languages and cultures and learnt Bangla and made friends with many North-Eastern community members.
.This was for one year till the family moved to Dehradun, India in 1982 where he helped his friends Jai Prakash and Rajesh Thapa with free English tuition for two years in the period 1982-1985 while also taking steps to improve the life of army personnel of his father’s unit and the children of construction labours at Turner Road in Dehradun by making donations and holding education classes at his home. While at this place, Rituj observed the poverty again because of INC and how the Mafia, controlled the lives of hapless people, using threats and torture and buying votes during elections among other things.
.Rituj soon realized that it was the non-Hindu family of Gandhis which was responsible for bringing the great Hindu nation to tatters after the British and the Muslims had done their part. The assassination of Indira Gandhi and the subsequent events leading to the Sikh riots led him to believe, still further, that India was a bad country governed recklessly and one that needed change. Rituj’s father was then posted to Army Hospital, Delhi Cantt in 1985, now Base Hospital and he sought admission at The Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and it was there that he first observed Hindu boys and girls doing illicit sex and taking to drugs at the campus, under the influence of Western cultures. He saw corruption at the campus by the school offices and use of abusive language and indecent behaviour by fellow students.
.On several occasions Rituj was betrayed by students, whom he had earlier helped in studies and he saw how people at even school level used their father’s influence to cover up their wrongdoings. It was then not a difficult task for him to conclude that India ran on corruption and one could even get away with murders and rapes as the media reported and was realized by him. This was another blow of reality that proved that the land of Ram and Krishan was being led by immoral morons who showed little hesitancy in ruining the lives and mechanisms the country had established.
.Rituj received major shocks at IIT Delhi campus in years 1991-1995 where he suffered to see casteism between different groups of students, financial bunglings by students and staff alike, politics that was directed against him because most students at the campus were jealous of his personality and nature and did not want him to take the centre spot. More disturbing was the apathy of people towards all this and the death of his friend Saurabh Aggarwal, an IIT-mate, in 1993 due to rabies and how people acted like cowards leading their behaviour to get distorted as they stayed away from his last rites fearing to contract the same disease as it has no cure despite having taken earlier preventive vaccination to help themselves.
.This act of cowardice by most was an eye-opener and he made a strong will to change that in future and by now it was easy for him to see that it was actually the Hindus who were responsible for India’s shameless existence because they accepted that as a part of their national character and also justified it. Moreover, many of his co-students at IIT Delhi planned to fail Rituj and as such even now work against his interests, owing to jealousy. Rituj has made it a point to defeat such nefarious designs by his hard work. It is worthy to note that despite such negativities around him, he decided to hold free literacy classes for student children of low-income families at the IIT Delhi campus as a part of his curriculum and also collected donations for Latur earthquake victims in 1993.
.It is worthy of notice that with each shocking event and experience in his life, Rituj learnt a lesson and made a strong will to bring about social changes in a non-violent manner that are beneficial to the society and bring justice to the individuals or institutions in all the areas of life that need attention. Soon after completing his graduation at IIT Delhi in 1995, Rituj was summoned by God to stop the illegal activities of his neighbour at 160, Sector 37, Noida 201303 (UP), India who had started an illegal drinking water business from his residence while making huge encroachments on public land making sanitation a big headache and also making the health of his family affected.
.Rituj requested his neighbour, Late Brig Ravi Devasar (Retd.) who was known to have Mafia connections in Mumbai and Delhi and was a smuggler to remove and stop all that he was doing. He arrogantly refused and boasted his connections. It was then that Rituj forced the local DM, Ashok Kumar to make Noida Authority act and everything was made to follow orders. This was Rituj’s major public victory on corruption.
.It was again during those years in 1995-1996, when after the corruption wave started in India with the then Indian PM, Narasimha Rao heralding a swindling of Indian ethos, that Rituj took active part in whistleblowing the Sun Glow Securities scam in Sector 29, Noida 201303 (UP) India where the directors made away with about INR 5.5 million of investors' money, most of whom were ordinary people who had invested their life’s earnings. By now Rituj was fully aware that he had to act as a leader having seen a life of negativity from childhood holding lack of honesty in Hindus and Sikhs being the chief reason for national decay.
.Rituj led two other very senior army officers of which one was Maj Gen Aul (Retd.) and the other being Lt Gen Vinod Kumar (Retd.) of Noida, both retired and victims of the scam, to file an FIR when others were fearing as the directors were criminals. Soon thereafter the two directors, Asim Kumar and Dr Ashok Chauhan of Noida were nabbed at the Bangladesh border and jailed. This was Rituj’s another major public victory on corruption. Rituj was then responsible to get the police take action against other financial offenders in Delhi NCR including PLS Group and Aneja Group among others. This was instrumental in helping him develop firmness of fair character.
.Rituj was further motivated to do an MBA (Marketing and Finance) at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, 1996-1998 and was the target of jealousy and corruption of his classmates when he was stolen off his Topper prize by Gautam Suri, a corrupt student close to the then director Prof A Balasubramanian, who was ousted for attempted rape of a newcomer and who favoured his unworthy girlfriend Smiti Khera instead. Most students at the campus were always trying to please this corrupt director, proving that they were devoid of values and did not pay attention to character building and studies.
.And Rituj was always trying to show them reason and oppose the director wherever required while also helping his fellow students with studies some of whom were from other institutions. Rituj was not given a campus placement because of this and discriminated. Rituj, used to religiously help his co-students in studies and this has not been reciprocated and he is today planning to file a legal suit to set the ball right and establish this as an example for others to emulate that injustice should not be tolerated. A change is brought when we act and mostly thoughts alone are not sufficient, in the words of Rituj.
.Upon his completion of studies, he started working in Delhi NCR and worked at majorly IT companies. It was then that in the spare time he would ponder over his experiences till then and wonder why nobody was successful in shaping India the way he dreamed. This led him to become more social and for a brief time he contributed to the activities of IIT Delhi East Delhi Alumni Association based in Noida, India and was a Secretary in 2002. He would raise awareness among members on corruption and matters of concern and so on.
.This was also the time when he noticed that there were too much backstabbing and jealousy in the members and that this was exactly what he had been a victim of in the past and hated. When he tried increasing the attendance at the meetings most members refused to attend saying that there was going to be a total waste of time as the meetings would be devoid of productivity. This was enough of an indication to the young Rituj that he should dwell deeper into the issues and not be dispirited.
.Taking a lesson from Maharshi Dayanand, the founder of Arya Samaj, Rituj took a
self-motivated, society-oriented, soul-searching study of the issues and the reasons behind the collapse of Hinduism as a guiding force, a shameless attitude of North Indians and the economic downfall of Indian economy to help the society and get things in order. Rituj has no intentions of drawing any selfish benefit but the fact that the dawning of wisdom may help all in the true spirit of the principles of Arya Samaj. This continued from 2000 and continues to date.

.These articles are on the internet and have been published on the website https://www.blogger.com and on the LinkedIn account of Rituj Kalra, click,
This is a multi-article series which clearly indicates that corruption, sense of inferiority complex, poor attitude, jealousy etc., are the main factors leading to the destruction of the impressive Hindu traditions, customs, businesses, economy, values, ethos, religion and the whole social fabric, in fact.
.Rituj then started distributing these in Delhi NCR and to people he knew in Pune, Mumbai and other places in UP, India. The most important aspect of this all was his success in getting his article “India’s dark underside,” published in a leading Indian newspaper, "The Pioneer," on Oct 20, 2004, after much legwork and no money was taken for any of his hard work by him. This article was not given any importance by "The Times of India," and "Hindustan Times," as they support the corrupt INC. This article has the internet version available, click,
.It was also featured on many other internet websites including "International Reporter." Rituj then sent these to all major political parties and Swami Ramdev in the summer of 2005, repeatedly emphasizing them to focus on this most critical issue of Indian black economy and Swiss banks and corruption. Even though many other people talked about this, it was only Rituj who made it a point to make an issue out of it. Rituj credits himself to have written the first ever article in an Indian newspaper on this issue.
.Fortunately, for Indians, this Indian black economy and corruption have become national issues and most people feel that one day this money will come back and India will become a white economy. The world lives on hope and so we should not lose hope. Moreover it is to be mentioned that the life-changing event that made Rituj believe that a revolution in India needs to be brought about was the result of a murder attack on him and his family by his Mafia-related neighbours of Sector 37, Noida who had been incited by Late Brig Ravi Devasar (Retd.) of 160, Sector 37, Noida 201303 (UP) India on July 22, 2002.
.On that day when Rituj was on a medical leave from his employer and was sleeping at his home, he was awakened by the noise created by his neighbour, Late Dr (Lt Col) T R Kapur (Retd.) of 167, Sector 37, Noida 201303 (UP) India and his wife who were trying to steal an electric junction box from the street with the help of a "safai karamchari (cleaner)," of Arun Vihar Sahkari Avas Samiti or AVSAS. On Rituj’s objection, they did not stop. Rituj then called a Sector 38 Noida UPSEB Power official who asked them to stop.
.They lied and said that they have a permission to which Rituj asked who and when gave that permission and if they had a written notification. They then said they did not. While Rituj was talking peacefully to the official, Major Prashant Kapur and Late Maj Gen B N Kapur (Retd.) who are also corrupt and were past neighbours, attacked Rituj from behind with an intent to kill and later his mother too who was trying to stop the attack, was attacked by these criminals and all this while Late Maj Gen B N Kapur (Retd.), resident of 165, Sector 37, Noida 201303 (UP) India kept yelling that as Rituj was a small man, he will not be able to defend himself and he should be done away with and that they can get away with anything because of their connections as they knew how India worked. This attack was unprovoked and one that had been conspired by Late Maj Gen B N Kapur (Retd.) and Major Prashant Kapur.
.Rituj boldly defended himself and then somebody called the police who stopped the scene, but the police failed to register a case because they were bribed at Sector 39, Noida (UP) 201303 India, police station by these criminals. Also included in the murder attack were Col Rana (Retd.) and Deepak Rana of 162, Sector 37, Noida 201303 (UP) India and the families of Late Brig Ravi Devasar (Retd.) and Late Dr (Lt Col) T R Kapur (Retd.). Showing his will to stop corruption in the wake of the worst form of corrupt opposition at the cost of his life and be ready to die for India has been a big demonstration of his character and a big moral victory for Rituj. It may be mentioned here that the rival Mafia people had approached Rituj and said that they could help settle scores, but their offer was not accepted because this was against his values, and he then decided to take a legal action.
.It was this attack on India’s integrity by shameless and corrupt senior defense officers that acted as a catalyst for making Rituj realize that India should be saved at all costs, come what may and the need to eradicate the black economy and corruption issue started in Rituj’s mind thereafter and he has done much research work and helped make it a national issue, as mentioned before, with others and his contribution has also been rewarded with iCONGO's "Karmaveer Chakra," for trying to bring about a major social change, click,
It has been extremely challenging for Rituj to find justice for himself and the nation that gave him birth but he is sure he will succeed for he believes in the Sanskrit saying, “Satyamave Jayate,” or “Truth alone triumphs,” the Indian motto. Rituj has since then been doing social activism along with his social work and has vowed to continue working for the underprivileged and fight injustice, wherever it may be.
.Rituj has since then complained to the former Indian Army Chief, Gen V K Singh and he has been informed that the Adjutant General is looking into the matter. Rituj is striving to clean up the mess of his street in Noida before making to contribute more to the world in this way because for that he needs both time and support. Rituj is a wise, brave, humble, righteous and rewarding individual who calls a spade a spade. Rituj has since moved to Canada and since 2005 has increased his “Karmadaan,” or “The donation of karma,” to a larger audience in order to make humanity more satisfied and happy. His association with Telegraph-Journal, a leading New Brunswick, Canada daily is a step in this direction and an extension of the selfless service he has been doing since his kidhood days.
.His Twitter, Facebook and Blogger accounts are full of wisdom and help for the masses. It is hoped that someday humanity will benefit in a major way to help itself evolve through his works since he will continue to bring about social changes that are necessary while earning a name in his various professions too to help the teeming billions worldwide. This "Karmaveer," meaning, "The brave of actions," who never got a job because of networking and has always been backstabbed by many people is all set to bring great changes because of his honesty and dedication and hopes that he will make a sincere effort to make India (Bharat), a developed country, among other things, by evoking the support of all those who are true, click,
.Having come to Canada from India where he conquered most severe adversity, Rituj has made a name for himself, click,
and has launched three companies in the food, films and publishing sectors and has increased his "Karmadaan." A spirited and ambitious person he is, only "Time," will decide the course of his journey.
